You will love Summer Heights High. Sorry, but it’s true.

Here at BoredGayBoy we strive to help alleviate boredom in gay boys around the globe. And, fortunately for you, we get around have global connections.

Our favorite television programme from the past year is definitely Summer Heights High—a mockumentary [think: The Office] set at a suburban Australian high school. The show documents the antics of three main characters…

Ja’mie, a “totally hot” 16yo exchange student from private school who is doing her best to survive at this “povvo” public school.

Jonah, a troubled 13yo learning-impared minority student who enjoys breakdancing and picking on 6th graders.

Mr. G, the well-liked overly-ambitious drama teacher, who recently staged Tsunamarama [a musical based on the tsunami tragedy set to the music of Bananarama].

As you can see from the clips above, the three characters are all played by the same actor, Chris Lilley, who is also the show’s creator.

There’s been growing press around the show lately, as it’s been picked up by BBC3 in the UK and HBO here in the US. We here at BoredGayBoy have watched the entire series at least 20 times [who you calling 'bored', eh?]

You can buy the Australian-Region DVD from the ABC Gift Shop, or find torrents for it online—we don’t recommend waiting for the BBC3/HBO release.

Once you’ve become addicted to Summer Heights High, you’ll want to rock out to the official Paul Mac dance remix of Naughty Girl.

BONUS PRE-SUMMER HEIGHTS HIGH MATERIAL!

Even the most hardcore Summer Heights High fans will enjoy these pre-Summer Heights High, pre-They Can Be Heroes clips from when Chris Lilley was on an Australian sketch comedy show called Big Bite, and oftentimes played Mr. G. Tons of YouTube clips of Mr. G before Summer Heights High.

“It’s not exactly rocket surgery!”
