Sacha Baron Cohen nabs Bono and Elton John for Spoof Song for Bruno

For his upcoming film Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America For The Purpose Of Making Heterosexual Male, Sacha Baron Cohen may not get to show butt sex, but he will have an orgy with real-life porn stars and an over-the-top, “We Are The World”-like spoof song featuring some major musical talents on the soundtrack.

Details are a little sketchy, but allegedly Chris Martin and Bono showed up at London’s Abbey Road Studios to lay down their tracks for a song called “Dove of Peace” on the upcoming movie’s soundtrack.

According to the UK’s Daily Mirror (via Chart Attack):

An example of the song’s cheekiness can be found in this sample lyric: “For people of Africa who live in hell/They will never wear Chanel.”

“Chris Martin was in stitches throughout the recording and only just managed to get his lines out,” the source told the Mirror.

Baron Cohen (or Bruno, the gay Austrian fashion television reporter he portrays in the film) has also convinced Sting, Elton John and The Village People to contribute to the song. Snoop Dogg’s name has also been mentioned and Madonna is said to be close to signing on.

The shit sounds hilarious, and even though it’s going to be part gay minstrel show we’re sure it’ll be worlds funnier than Carson Kressley on a good day.
